Oh the frustrations of constantly striving for professional and personal excellence!  But why do we blame everyone and everything but ourselves when things go wrong?!  Get in and hang on TIGHT!  You’re in for quite a ride as we take a look at those things in our workplace and personal lives that cause us grief.  Let’s be honest:  If we’re going to spend most of our waking hours at work, we should be doing everything in our power to ensure work is a fun, positive, place to be, while at the same time maintaining the highest level of professionalism.  We’ll identify what motivates us to keep going and take a closer look at what drives us over the edge, namely, PEOPLE!  As the title suggests, we’ll be taking a look at ourselves as well… a process that is guaranteed to make us both keel over in laughter AND cause us to swallow hard!  YIKES!!  This component is guaranteed to bring harmony and smiles to everyone in your workplace!

 

“DEALING WITH CHANGE!”change

Change has the ability to send shivers up our spines.  And yet it’s the only constant.  We’ll cover all aspects of change here:  why we need it, how people react to it, and how we can work through it to be not only a better organization, but better people working in that organization.  With a number of group and individual exercises, we’ll work our way through the negatives of change, to the point where we not only accept it, but welcome it.  Within this component we’ll deal with how change affects management, employees AND clients, look at the damage that can be caused through basic misunderstandings and lack of information (from all parties!) and come out the other side welcoming the change, allowing the organization and all involved to grow.  Let me say this:  the competition is out there, and they’re changing.  If you don’t keep up… well you know the rest of the story!

For some crazy reason, people denote job title with professionalism.  That is absolutely NOT the entire scenario.  We’ll straighten that out here!  Being a professional is not always WHAT you do but HOW you do it.  And frankly, it’s not okay to “slip” on the “how” when you’re in a profession that deals with others.  Oh… and “mediocre” is not okay!  We’ll consider where each of us is on a professionalism scale and take a close look at where we are in a number of “professionalism” areas such as attitude, language, dress, communication skills and more.  You may walk in knowing you’re a job holder, but you’ll walk out with the tools to be a true professional!
